From minimally invasive keyhole surgery to complex procedures, all surgery is performed in a sterile operating theatre just like in a human hospital. Our fully trained veterinary nurses assist the veterinarians throughout the procedure and make sure the patient is monitored and pain free from preparation right through to recovery.
Our Surgical Procedures Include:
We take every precaution to minimise the potential risks of anaesthetics. The clinic will run a pre-anaesthetic blood test before administering the general anaesthetic, to screen for any underlying medical conditions. This tests the organ functions, blood count, and clotting function of your pet prior to the surgery, to assure the safety of your pet during the procedure and their ability to heal following the surgery.
We use modern anaesthetics that are cleared from the body quickly, with surgical patients monitored using pulse oximeters, capnography, and a respiratory Apalert during their procedures. Your pet will be kept comfortable during the surgery with heart and respiration rates recorded to detect if the patient requires more pain control. A trained veterinary nurse is always present to assist with the monitoring of the surgery.
We recommend that all patients receive intravenous fluids during their surgical procedure to prevent dehydration and help the anaesthetic drugs to be properly flushed through their system.
After the procedure, your pet will recover in peace and comfort until they are safe to be discharged back home. Our veterinarians will provide you with helpful recommendations for pain management and how to keep your pet comfortable while they heal.
